Some "New" Music

Recently I have made a purchase for our holiday home that I did based on my daughter's recommendation - a Sony turntable with Bluetooth capabilities. It was something I have been planning for a while, so not an impulse buy, but I had not got around to researching options. She was wanting one herself so she did the research on my behalf and managed to get 2 for a good price with free postage so we were both happy.

We have not got a T.V. or Wi-fi at our holiday house so it really feels like a break away when we go there - much to our teenagers' chagrin! I wanted to be able to listen to music easily and felt like having old music would fit the ambience of our 1970's house.

Today I found some old records at the thrift store for $2.00 each and I have enjoyed being surprised to find what music they contained. The crackle of the needle and and the style of the some of the albums brings back so many memories or my parents listening to music on their "stereogram" when I was a child. The ambience this music provided at home this evening was fantastic - even if my teenage son had to put a lot of effort into rolling his eyes! Who knows - one day he might look back with fondness on this music playing at home and feel nostalgic when he hears it in the future!

I think I will be aiming to expand my record collection in the coming weeks and look forward to what i might discover - on the cheap of course!
