For a Loaf of Bread

I am not someone who has a large number of kitchen appliances sitting doing nothing as I don't have the space and have avoided collecting appliances that only do one thing. One I have had for a long time is my bread maker which I used to use a lot but as life has got busier it has become neglected and just takes up room on my bench. This morning I had the sudden urge to make a loaf so I put it on to bake just after breakfast knowing the kids would be pleased. We spent the morning getting some jobs done around the house done to the smell of freshly baking bread emanating from the kitchen. By the time the loaf was ready everyone was looking forward to the taste of fresh bread. My daughter couldn't wait to have her first slice while the bread was still warm and with butter melting into it. An easy thing to do and it brought so much pleasure!

The making of a simple loaf of bread today - which to be honest with a bread maker takes very little effort - made me realise that it doesn't need to be complicated and gave everyone such pleasure. Just the smell in the house was worthwhile and it cost very little for something delicious! I am feeling inspired to try some new types of bread - I just need to make sure they are simple to prepare. Here's to new recipes and new food options (and contented tummies!)for not much money!
