Refresh, Reuse, Recycle!
I'm feeling pleased with a wee project I have completed in the last couple of weeks for our holiday house. It is something I have had sitting around our house since last July and I finally got a change to complete it.
It sat around for ages cluttering my space then I decided to bite the bullet. I chose some fabric in a sale and got it for $5.00. The cushion in it needed plumping up so I stole some beans from my son's beanbag to make it look much fuller. I unpicked the existing covering and cut out a pattern for a new one then sewed it together.
It took me a couple of hours total to unpick and resew the new cover and when I put it together I was very pleased with the transformation. A clean of the timber with a damp cloth and I had a new item that looks much better and will be very practical for the grand total of $10 (that also includes the entertainment it gave me completing the project so a bargain all round. I have tried it out while having breakfast on an armchair in the sun and it worked perfectly. Now I just need to try it for breakfast in bed if I can convince someone to bring it to me!!
It has made me inspired to do some more projects that involve putting new life into old objects for little or no money. I'm now on the lookout...
