Winter Fete

Today has been a day of some spending but for a good reason. I have travelled up to the little town where our holiday house is to spend the weekend with some of the most important women in my life - my mum, my sister, my sister in law and my cousin. We have come for the inaugural Winter Fete that is being held with lots of stalls and food and drink and live music.

It started at 2 but we headed down mid afternoon and spent some time wondering around the gorgeous stalls with all sorts of goodies - many of then locally produced products from small businesses who have come up with some fantastic ideas. We got to enjoy some live music, hot food and I had a mulled gin - it is a real thing and it was delicious!

As it got dark the lights came on and with lots of fairy lights strung around it had an almost magical atmosphere. I loved being wrapped up in my warm clothes with my mulled gin in my hands wandering around and just browsing. I bought a couple of inexpensive things and pondered about buying a beautiful merino wool throw rug ( I resisted) and I just enjoyed spending time with these women in my family while helping support small businesses.

I felt it was money well worth spending and gave the opportunity to create memories and experience this little town we are getting to know so well in a whole different light. It was fun!
