A River Runs Through It...
Today was spent mostly productively doing odd jobs at home in preparation for going away for the Easter break. By the afternoon I was a bit over sorting through things (which feels never ending sometimes!). My eldest daughter wanted to go for a run at the beach but did not want to go by herself. I thought it would be too cold there so wasn't keen to go but thought a change of scenery would be a good idea to clear my head.
I suggested we go to a nearby walkway that runs through a reserve that is being slowly planted out in native plants by a group of dedicated volunteers. A river meanders through this reserve and every time I go there I am fascinated by how clear the water is and the intensity of the greens in the water and at its edges.
We headed off and had a pleasant time there. I enjoyed walking around the pathway and seeing how much the plants had grown. I wandered along by the river where it is very peaceful and calming. The water flows slowly so no noise comes from the movement of the water. I took some photos (no filter on the photo - this is how intense the greens really are).
I felt the clutter of the day clear from my head as I walked. The river seemed to help wash it away and I felt a sense of peace and calm as I walked - I left the running to my daughter!
