To the Moon and Back

 This evening on the drive home from picking my son up from football practice we spotted the full moon rising and it was big and heavy. It was mesmerizing. I really wanted to capture it and hold the image in my head so we took some back roads away from the street lights to try to capture it.

The camera on my phone is a good one but it is not really able to take the sort of image that would have done justice to how the moon looked but I am quite happy with the photo I took as even though it doesn't capture the size of the moon it does show how bright it was. It almost looks more like a sunrise!

I'm glad I took the extra 10 minutes to chase that moon and find time to actually stop and appreciate its beauty. It is so easy to take these wonders of nature for granted. By taking a different road home my son and I had a short adventure and stepped away from the routine of life and the familiar route home. All it cost us was time. Thank you Moon and Mother Nature for providing the inspiration!
