Binge TV

Tonight I have had an inexpensive Saturday night spent re-wathcing The Handmaid's Tale to refresh the story in anticipation of the last season coming out next week. It has been fun binge watching and even though I've seen these episodes before there were parts I couldn't remember picking up on last time so I am pleased I spent time rewatching it.

We currently have two subscriptions for TV/movie viewing that cost us just over $30/month for the two. I could be an expense we could cut back on if we needed to but when I look back to the days when we used to rent videos we could spend between $5.00-10.00 per week on movies - more if we got a latest release. I thought that was good value and cheap entertainment at the time but now we are actually spending less overall so I think we are getting better value for our money, a great range to choose from and no need to drive to the video store or go to the cinema either. Saves on petrol and finding a car park too! The kids all link in and we all get to watch TV that we each enjoy and the ability to binge watch is fantastic when you have a free Saturday night.

I will aim to cut back on one of the subscriptions once the TV series I follow come to an end as the others all mostly watch the other subscription. Until then I think we spend a lot less per month that we would in one trip to the movies. All in the comfort of our own home!
