Wall to Wall

We have collected a number of framed pieces over the years and the challenge I often face is deciding where to hang things as it might involve making a hole in the wall and what if I chose the wrong place! I try to use stick on hooks which I have had good success with and it at least allows me to make a change in position if it's not right but that still doesn't seem to help my indecision. Often the pieces end up sitting on the floor leaning up against the wall. That drives me a  bit mad!

I have taken the time to hang a group of things together that we have had for many years. I did the embroidery 35 years ago. The hand painted certificate is a family peice around 130 years old and in its original frame which I had restored and set with conservation materials a few years ago. The small prints are done by my husband and a class mate at art school over 25 years ago. The large coloured lithograph I bought a number of years ago on a trading site for not much money. I have never thought to hang them all together but when I came up with this arrangement it just all seemed to fit together.
Seeing this little eclectic group of pieces - none of which are new for us - hanging together in a way they've never been before and complementing each other so well is exciting.

I feel inspired to bite the bullet and and just get on and hang things up! Who knows what other pieces we have owned for a long time might feel new again in a new place on the wall!
