Walking Therapy

A friend and I went for a walk today. I have a book on local walks around our region that I picked up at the op shop for a couple of dollars several months back so we have been using that to get ideas of new places to go. We chose a place neither of us had ever been to and it provided a bit of an adventure as the route was not clear and we ended up at the edge of a swamp and had to back track.

We walked over 10000 steps and had a good talk about a range of things which was most therapeutic. I wore shoes I bought on a trip to Melbourne nearly 5 years ago that I've only worn a couple of times as one squeaked when I walked and it annoyed me. They are actually very comfortable and feel like new to me as they been on a shelf in my wardrobe out of sight.

So for no money today I got to wear new shoes - with no squeak heard - free exercise with new scenery and talking therapy with a friend.  I also got to come home and felt inspired to plan the next walk we will do so enjoyed leafing through the book I had coming up with ideas for where we can go next.
That's a win-win all round I think!
