By the Seaside
We live in a rurual area away from the sea and it is easy to go long stretches without seeing the sea at all. I often forget how coastal how city and much of our district actually is.
Today I had something to drop off for someone that was in a seaside suburb and it was a lovely reason for a drive. I had our electric car so I had no guilt about driving the extra distance to run this errand and I enjoyed the change of scenery.
The sun was shining, the sky was cloudless, the sea was sparkling and my car was electric so no pollution created! It meant I could really enjoy the act of driving and soaking in the views and seeing a part of the city I hadn't been to for a while. It allowed me to remind myself of the proximity we actually have to the ocean that I don't appreciate often enough. I must admit Im more of a head to the hills kind of girl but there is something refreshing about the sea that lifts my spirits when I go then.
I think I will need to make an effort to drive to the sea and actually take a beach walk next time!
