Retail Therapy
My husband and I had errands to run in town so I took the opportunity to check out the local op shops (that somes with an eye roll from my husband I think!) I was looking specifically for crochet hooks - there weren't any to be had - and wool. I managed to find all of this stuff for $14.00 so I felt quite pleased.
As you can see I did stray from the crafting area but I felt very excited about my finds and counldn't leave them behind. The yarn is pure wool and I think will crochet well into a blanket. The wooden tray is mid century NZ design which I will resell and the retro patterns are for my daughter who is learning to crochet too. The glasses I am not sure whether I will keep or sell but I love the green glass and the very 70's feel about them. The glass bottle is an old cream bottle reminiscent of my childhood - I will put that with my vases and look forward to a posy in spring to put in it.
Going op shopping has given me my retail fix for the day for a bargain price and I know I have saved plenty of money as the woollen yarn alone can be anywhere from $5.00 to $15.00 or more each in the shops. The plate I will probaby be able to sell for more than I spent today - the last one I sold for $25.00 3 days after listing it!
Now I have the fun of planning what I am going to make with the balls of wool...
