D.I.Y. Savings

 Today I spent a couple of hours underneath the floor of our holiday house redoing the insulation which has been previously poorly installed and therefore completely ineffective. It is a cramped and dirty and musty smelling job but it also gives me a great sense of satisfaction as I work my way along and get it looking tidier and making the house ultimately warmer.

Once I'd done enough for the day I had a long blissful shower washing away the grime. I put on warm clothes and we went for a walk to enjoy some fresh air before heading to the hot pools.

The trees are looking bare now but the autumn leaves are still carpetting the ground and look what I spotted peeping out!

Doing DIY at our property can be hard work but it is satisfying to do something yourself that would cost us a lot to pay someone to do it. With the insulation we also hope it will save a lot in heating costs over time once it is completed. Doing it myself I know its done to our standards and there is nothing better than having that long hot shower and putting clean clothes on after doing something dirty!
