A Bird's Eye View
I have recently had a reminder that it is always good to see things from a different viewpoint as it helps you to look at them anew and appreciate them in a whole new way. This photo is of the view we had flying home after our two weeks away.
After being in a city full of hills (volcanoes), house, roads and traffic it was good to fly over and see the plains and the mountains and wide open spaces of home. Flying and I have a tenuous relationship. As a child I did not get to do it often so it held a sense of adventure and I loved seeing everything in miniature as we took off or came into land. As an adult I have become more anxious about flying however I love where it can get us so I make myself cope and just get on with it. Looking out of the plane window and seeing this view made being up high worthwhile and it gave me a new perspective of something I get used to seeing all the time at ground level.
For me as I was feeling excited to head home and see our children it was a good reminder to appreciate what is around me everyday.
