Click and Collect
Saving money on grocery shopping is always a challenge however it is one I am always happy to attempt to do. Over the years I have used various ways to do this and know that several things make a big difference. Having a shopping list (and even better a menu plan) make a big difference to avoid buying unnecessary items. In more recent times our local supermarket has supplied scanners so you can scan your items as you put them in the trolley. This has been a good way to see you running total as you go round however it doesn't prove to be fool proof at stopping me from putting extras in.
Finally this week they have added click and collect to the options available to get the weekly grocery shop so I decided to try it. I have had friends using the grocery delivery system offered by their local supermarket say they spend less each week as they avoid impulse buys by just buying what is on their list. As we live rurally grocery delivery was not an option offered by the supermarket I like to use so having click and collect is the next best thing.
I have spent some time familiarising myself with the process today and started some lists that I can keep saved of regularly bought items and favourite things. Once set up I am hoping it will save me time and money. Let's see how it goes and see what happens to our grocery bill over the next few weeks!
