Spring is Starting to Spring!

 We are still officially in winter and still in lockdown but I have spring bulbs that have been coming up for several weeks and today my first spring flower put in an appearance!

The verdant colours of spring after the bareness and often dull colours of winter always send a message of hope and fresh starts. It sends a shiver down my spine to think that Mother Nature is waking from her slumber once again and beginning to dress herself in all her green finery studded with jewels of flowers.

With being in lockdown it is easy to have feelings of hopelessness as we are trapped in the daily cycle of being stuck at home, choice seemingly removed. Yet the sight of this small flower awakens a sense of hope in me that we are moving towards something better and that "this too will pass". It reminds me to continue to look forward to the beautiful and good things that life offers and that even amongst the dark times there will always be bright spots that we can find joy in - we just need to remember where to look.

I bet that muscari flower didn't realise it was going to evoke such as outpouring of hope! It is a small symbol to me of hope for what is to come!
