Itchy Feet

Well we've made it to day 14 of lockdown and the number of cases seems to be plateauing so the government have announced that we will be moving down a level over most of the country from midnight tonight. It affords us a little bit more freedom but pretty limited still and it still doesn't mean we can travel around the countryside. My feet are getting itchy to get going up to our holiday house so I had to be content with dreaming about it and planning what we will get to do on our next trip there.

On our drive up we pass this limestone rock formation that is shaped like a large frog - hence the name! it is located in a valley full of ancient rock formations that were originally old sea floor and now pushed inland several millennia ago. There are other rocks we see that we think look like things like Elvis Presley in profile, a crocodile and a tuatara (an endemic ancient reptile from the time of the dinosaurs still living in New Zealand).

I'm so looking forward to making this drive again - funny how being told you can't have something makes you crave it even more! Seeing Frog Rock again will mean we have made it to the halfway point to our destination. Roll on the next drop in lockdown levels!!
