Under the Big Top

Today we splashed out some money and booked tickets for the whole family to go to the circus. We've never taken the kids to one and neither my husband or I had been to a circus since we were kids. We both remember going to see the Moscow Circus when it came to the city we both lived near. We will have gone to the same circus as they weren't common back in the 70's. Who knows we might have even been at the same show...

We thought it would be a fun thing to do. Time with the whole family is getting harder and harder as the children grow into adulthood. It was a relatively expensive thing to do but it was valuable time together and something everyone seemed invested in spending time doing. Just driving there made me realise it had been a long time since all 5 of us had been in the car together at the same time. The bickering in the back seat brought back so many memories!!

The circus itself was  an interesting experience. It wasn't as grand and exciting as my memory expected it to be but it was fun to watch. There were moments of awe at what people could do, and some moments that made you hold your breathe hoping they wouldn't hurt themselves. For the money spent was it good value - not for the event itself. For the time spent as a family experiencing something new and different all together it was invaluable. So overall money well spent I think!
