Downton Abbey
Being in lockdown for me means no getting up early or waking to an alarm, no ferrying children places, no making endless school lunches. Time somehow seems to stretch out and there appear to so many more hours in the day. I can be more mindful of each moment as I have the space to do this. This extra time in my day gives me an opportunity to do some binge watching.
I have finally been able to start Downton Abbey lately. I have been meaning to for years but never found the time to start what felt rather daunting with so many episodes. I am glad I waited as they are all done and the movie has been produced so I can watch all the way through at my own pace. Today I managed to squeeze in 4 episodes - is that bad??
I am loving the dresses and the hairstyles and the completely different way of life. The characters are interesting with the whole upstairs/downstairs theme going on. The setting is lavish and captures a time gone past with a vividness about it I love seeing on film to watch all on my own so I can savour it.
With all of the seasons and the movie available on Netflix and Neon which we pay to have I can have guaranteed viewing for a number of days yet should lockdown be extended past the initial 3 days planned.
Because this is money already budgeted for it becomes a low cost entertainment and there will be little chance for me to spend any other extra money on anything else as I'll be too busy watching shows to look at any online shopping. Win-win!!
