"New" Bed, "New" Book

 My husband and I have made the late drive up to our holiday house this evening for a weekend to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. We had to make it late as our son had a football match and we had to show some parenting before we hightailed it off leaving the kids to fend for them selves for two days (they are teenagers so they will be just fine!)

The trip takes 90 minutes and is an easy drive and I really wanted to go this evening as it meant we could wake up and have a lazy morning instead of packing the car and getting away late. We arrived just before 11pm to a chilly house - it is located in an alpine village so temperatures get quite cold. 

After unpacking the car we quickly made the bed up with fresh sheets and extra duvets. Warm PJs were called for then we settled in to get cosy in our "bed away from home". I have my latest read that I got for a few dollars second hand and I am in my happy place! I'm so glad we made the decision to drive up late this evening as our holiday weekend has begun already and the change of scenery is always welcome.
