Soap and Glory!
After yesterday doing the budget I made a renewed call to myself to work harder on the limiting of spending. As I've gone through and balanced the books I can see where the money goes more clearly. Even those trips to the thrift shops start to add up after a while!! I have renewed my commitment to work even more at "finding the new" in the things we already own so we can save for the things we really want to spend our money on.
Today it was a humble cake of soap and my terracotta soap dish that I've owned for many years. My husband bought this for me one Christmas a long time ago - I remember at the time feeling slightly ungrateful as I thought it was rather lame. Little did I know it would prove very useful and I became fond of it because it is a gift from my husband. It sits in the cupboard under the kitchen sink and can get a bit soap caked.
Today it was time for a new cake of soap so I soaked then scrubbed the dish clean and it looked and felt like new all over again. The new cake of soap smells like lemongrass so I am going to enjoy the fresh smell of that everytime I wash my hands in the kitchen. Simple pleasures...
