Time Spent Together

My husband and I went for a walk this morning on a beautiful clear autumn day. The teenagers were all still asleep so it was the perfect excuse to get out and spend some time together just the two of us. We chose an area near where we live that we pass most days but haven't stopped at for years.

It's a living memorial reserve where there was originally a wetland that has been saved and then further developed. In conjunction with a funeral home native trees are planted in memory of people who have died. It is regenerating this wetland and providing a beautiful place for people to just go and be to remember their loved ones.

There is a good track around the perimeter and lots of seats dotted along the way to stop and sit on. It is in an area that could easily have been considered wasteland as the main motorways pass nearby yet it is lush and brings in birds and provides a beautiful view from the motorway across the trees.

We need more places like this and we need more time spent together doing this. It didn't take much effort - just getting up, putting on some walking gear and getting outside. When you know time is going to be shortened it makes it all the more valuable. In fact this time is priceless!
